Our Mission
The TWCC aims to shift the dynamics in K-12 coaching to increase the number of women in coaching positions. We believe in a holistic approach to coaching and program development and that women coaches are crucial in improving athlete performance and program culture.
Goal One
Create a trusted space for women coaches to come for education, networking, and support in their profession. We embrace holistic coaching and develop our members to coach the whole athlete, not simply the sport.
Goal Two
Magnify the valuable contributions that women coaches bring to athletes, programs, and communities through their holistic approach.
Goal Three
Change the dynamic in K-12 athletics to increase the number of women in leadership positions.
Texas Women Coaches’ Club is for female-identifying coaches of middle and high school sports. We support women who want to enter coaching, are new to the field, and aspire to be head coaches in Texas.
TWCC is led by Dr. Kolbe Ricks, head girls and boys swimming, head girls flag football coach, and athlete academics coordinator at Sunset High School in Dallas, TX. Kolbe has been in public education for 13 years, teaches AP English Literature, and began her high school coaching career as an assistant cross country coach at Sunset in 2021.
About us
Dr. Ricks has been the Sunset High School head swim coach since 2023.
Dr. Ricks is the proud head coach of the inaugural Sunset High School girls flag football team.
